Re-Accreditation for 2012

Portland Mountain Rescue and Eugene Mountain Rescue were tested for re-accreditation in the snow module on March 17th, 2012. Both of the teams passed the re-accreditation and are accredited by the Oregon Mountain Rescue Council for technical snow rescue until March 2017.

 

Training for 2012

Joint OMRC field training near Smith Rock State Park and the China Hat area
There will be a joint OMRC training on September 15th and 16th, 2012. The Descutes County Mountain Rescue Unit has volunteered to coordinate the training event. The joint training will take place in the Smith Rock and China Hat areas. The general training topic for the joint training will be cave rescue. The general idea for the weekend is to take Saturday to run through 4 stations covering various technical aspects of cave rescue, with a special emphasis on patient transport. Sunday is more open at this point with various ideas being climbing at Smith Rock or tours of local caves.
